Monkeypod table & Elm Bench custom made for this wonderful family.

WOW. WOW. WOW. We could not be happier with our table and bench! The process from start to finish was so easy, with the exception of selecting our wood slabs because everything in the shop were so beautiful. Blake was quick to reply to my original email inquiry and we were able to get an appointment that weekend to visit the shop and check out the wood slabs. During our appointment, he let us look at any piece that caught our eye and took the time to tell us pros and cons based on our needs and the space we described it would be going into. He was also very clear about their process and how it would impact the look of the table (bark removal, resin filling, etc.,) which was so helpful. Blake was honest about the turnaround time and said he would do his best to get us our table by Thanksgiving (ordered end of Aug). We knew he had several orders to work through before ours so we just kept our fingers and toes crossed. I checked in with him about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and he said he would have our table ready within a few days! Pick up was super easy and all we had to do was screw on the legs at home. The table and bench are beyond beautiful and are truly one of our best statement pieces in the house. We HIGHLY recommend Elpis & Wood if you are in the market for any live edge pieces. Thank you so much Blake + team for such a fun experience and exceptional products!

I first saw an Elpis live edge product at my son’s place in 2016. I loved the design. It was my first exposure to live edge wood furniture. I ended up purchasing a ten foot live edge desk for my home office…..When I moved to TX I reached back out to Blake and bought another live edge desk for my new place…..I love these guys and cannot recommend them enough! If you are looking for live edge furniture in the Seattle area then Elpis & Wood is the right place!

We came across Blake’s live edge shop on Etsy and Yelp and there’s a reason they have rave reviews. Blake’s small operation handles the entire process A-Z, sourcing to delivery, of the wood for your custom furniture. We commissioned them to create a live edge dining table. The process was easy - we initially contacted them from their site and after some discussion, visited their showroom/shop to see the wood slabs in person. The Elpis & Wood team is very knowledgeable about all the pieces in their showroom. They focused discussion on what we wanted in a final product, how the reclaimed wood they showed us met our needs, and made sure to try and stay in budget (of course we ended up going over but not because of anything they did). Blake was very flexible about us using a different shop for the legs and so patient in answering all our questions. We did have to reach out for updates occasionally but Blake would always respond back in a reasonable amount of time. When the team came to deliver the table and legs, it looked even better than we imagined!

I feel like for creating a custom live edge table, their prices were very fair compared to others in the Seattle area. It doesn’t take too long to do the actual work on the table, took only 2-3 weeks for ours but because they are such a small operation there will likely be a wait (it was about 2 1/2 months from us putting down the deposit until they started work on the table). We are very happy with our table and know we’ll be enjoying it for years to come!

Our live edge cedar blossom coffee table custom made by Elpis & Wood is not only riveting in its beauty and functionality, it is a work of art. As east coasters, we took a risk by custom ordering a table sight unseen from the other side of the country. But so much about Elpis & Wood attracted us—their high standards, spirit of philanthropy, and respect for the backstory of the wood they reclaim. Blake Paine carefully answered all of our questions throughout the process and tailored the design and finish to our wishes. Clearly he will not let anything leave his shop he doesn’t feel 100% proud of, as evidenced by his signature on the underside of the table. The cedar tree our table came from could not live forever, but Elpis & Wood gave it new life as source of admiration in our living room. More than any piece of furniture I’ve ever owned, the table carries the spirit of the tree it came from. We counted 125 rings, noting the flush years and the lean ones. The tree’s history lives with us now. It’s evident that the process of transforming this wood to table was done with reverence and respect, which may be the highest form of love.

Blake was great to work with. Not only did he make a beautiful, one-of-a-kind gift that my wife will be able to enjoy the rest of our lives, but he was also very flexible with special requests for my circumstances (I had to find creative ways of not letting her find out I was buying it since it was a Christmas gift!). You can tell his team is passionate about their work, and you will have a hard time leaving his “showroom” without finding a piece to call your own. Not for the faint of heart, but for those that have an eye for quality I think you should look no further! Rarely in life can we find things that genuinely persist through the years, so I consider it a worthwhile investment with what it will provide to our family. I can’t wait to get a dining table next! I can’t recommend them enough.

This review is long overdue... I have been slowly remodeling my living room and the very first piece I purchased was this original, unique and simply beautiful maple raw edge coffee table. The process was a bit nervewracking for me because I’ve never made a purchase like this without knowing what exactly I’ll be receiving in the end. But working with Blake was nothing short of the best. He answered all 850 questions (I swear I must have had that many) and he was super responsive, he kept searching until he found the perfect piece for me and was extremely patient when I wasn’t sure. I designed my entire room around this piece and although it’s not the biggest item in the room it’s the number one thing everyone always comments on — it’s just gorgeous! I highly recommend working with elpis & wood and bringing a piece of art like this into your own home!

Stopped by today to choose a raw live edge slab that will become the sign for my acupuncture clinic. Blake is a real pro, spent a lot of time explaining wood 101 to me, different types, grains, how they dry, what to look out for, etc. Great conversation. The man knows his stuff and loves his work. The piece I wound up choosing is beautiful, and I can’t be happier. Will come back here in a heartbeat!

Blake at elpis&wood was great to deal with, super responsive and really listened to what I specifically wanted for my desk. I am more than glad I went with this shop as opposed to somewhere local, despite the distance from me (TX), as the quality and craftsmanship was superb, and again, the service was stellar.

We just received a live edge walnut desk from Elpis&Wood and couldn’t be happier. The desk is gorgeous and delivery was flawless. This purchased exceeded our expectations. You can’t do better in terms of quality and price.

I have been hosting a Bible study around the beautiful live edge dining room table you made me for the last couple of months. We have had amazing discussions, shed tears, confessed hard things and just done real life around that table. One night a woman said, “I love this table” and another woman said, “I was just thinking the same thing!” The table is beautiful on its own but it’s the messy, honest, beautiful humanity gathered around it that elevates it to a sacred place. I had that vision the first time I laid eyes on that raw slab of live edge wood in your shop. I’m so grateful for the hands that turned that slab of wood into a beautiful gathering place.
